October in Tucson 2026: Fall Festivals, Halloween Events, U of A Happenings & More

October is one of the best months to be in Tucson. Between fall festivals, Halloween events, live music, University of Arizona traditions, and finally getting some cooler weather, there’s plenty happening around town.


Whether your family is coming to visit, you need a break from studying, or you’re already counting down to Halloween, we put together some of the events worth adding to your October calendar.

University of Arizona Events


Wildcats have a busy October ahead. From Family Weekend at the beginning of the month to Homecoming later on, there are plenty of reasons to spend some extra time on campus.


U of A Family Weekend

October 2–4, 2026


Family coming to town? The University of Arizona's Family Weekend gives students and their families a full weekend of campus activities, sports, entertainment, and Wildcat traditions.


A few events happening during the weekend include:

Family Weekend Fall Fest: October 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the UArizona Mall, with food trucks, student entertainment, activities, campus resources, and more. 

Movie on the Mall: October 2 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Jazz Under the Stars: October 2 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Arizona Volleyball vs. Iowa State: October 2 at 6 p.m.

Family Weekend Tailgate: October 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. on the UArizona Mall.

U of A Homecoming Week

October 18–24, 2026


Homecoming is another big Wildcat tradition returning this October. The week begins with the Lighting of “A” Mountain on October 18 and continues with events for students, alumni, and the U of A community throughout the week.


Expect plenty of Arizona red and blue around campus as Homecoming weekend gets closer.

Pima Community College Events


PCC also has plenty happening this October, especially if you’re looking for local arts, music, and theatre.


Fall Music Showcase

October 18 | 1–5 p.m. | West Campus


Spend your Sunday afternoon checking out PCC's Fall Music Showcase at West Campus. 


Frankenstein's Monster

October 22–25 | West Campus


Just in time for Halloween, Frankenstein's Monster takes the stage at PCC West Campus. Evening performances take place October 22, 23, and 24 at 7 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. performance on October 25.

More Tucson Events to Add to Your October Calendar


Apple Annie's Fall Pumpkin Celebration

Through October 31 | Willcox


Want the full fall experience? Grab some friends and take a road trip to Apple Annie's.

The Fall Pumpkin Celebration runs through Halloween and includes a 12.5-acre corn maze, pumpkin picking, sunflowers, seasonal vegetables, and weekend hayrides to the pumpkin patch. You can also head to the orchard October 3 and 4 for fresh apple cider donuts.


Trail Dust Town Oktoberfest

October 3 | 3–9 p.m.


Trail Dust Town's 12th Annual Oktoberfest brings local craft beer, German food, live music, dancing, amusement rides, and plenty of Old West fun together for one Saturday afternoon and evening. Entry and parking are free, with tickets required for beer and rides.


Tucson Reptile & Amphibian Show

October 3–4 | Pima County Fairgrounds


Looking for something completely different? The Tucson Reptile & Amphibian Show & Sale takes over Old Pueblo Hall at the Pima County Fairgrounds for two days.

The indoor event spans approximately 60,000 square feet and features reptiles, amphibians, vendors, and more.

Sundays in the garden

Sundays in the Garden at Tohono Chul

Sundays beginning October 4 | 1:30–3 p.m.


Slow down on a Sunday afternoon with live music in Tohono Chul's Performance Garden. Sundays in the Garden begins October 4 and features a rotating lineup of local musicians surrounded by one of Tucson's prettiest outdoor settings. The concerts are included with garden admission.


Patagonia Fall Festival

October 10–11 | Patagonia Town Park


Make a weekend road trip out of the annual Patagonia Fall Festival.


This free festival features 125+ artisans, live music, food, and activities in Patagonia Town Park. Saturday's festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Southern Arizona Arts Guild Fall Events


If you want a creative afternoon, the Southern Arizona Arts Guild has several reasons to stop by its gallery at Joesler Village this October.


Art & Appetizers returns October 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. with an Oktoberfest-inspired afternoon of autumn-themed art, demonstrations, and refreshments. The gallery is also planning live artist demonstrations, cider, and cookies on Saturdays throughout October, plus a Community Art Fest on October 17.


Tucson Meet Yourself

October 16–18 | Downtown Tucson


Come hungry.


Tucson Meet Yourself returns downtown for three days of food, music, dance, art, and cultural traditions from communities throughout Southern Arizona and Northern Mexico.

This year's free festival includes more than 100 activities, 50 food vendors, live performances, folk artists, and festival villages throughout downtown.


Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

October 18 | Rillito Park


Country music fans, this one's for you. Boots in the Park returns to Tucson at Rillito Park on October 18 for another outdoor country music festival.


Grab your boots, get your group together, and make a day of it.


The Who's TOMMY

October 20–25 | Centennial Hall


Need a change from your usual weekend plans? Broadway in Tucson brings The Who's TOMMY to Centennial Hall for six days this October.

The new production reimagines The Who's classic rock opera and includes songs like “Pinball Wizard,” “I'm Free,” and “See Me, Feel Me.”



Halloween Events in Tucson


Boo at the Zoo

October 21–25 | Reid Park Zoo


Costumes, Halloween displays, games, trick-or-treating, and a pumpkin patch take over Reid Park Zoo during Boo at the Zoo.


October 21 is a sensory-friendly evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m., followed by regular event nights October 22 through 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. Timed-entry tickets must be purchased in advance.

Hotel Congress | 21+


Halloween and Hotel Congress are a pretty perfect combination.


Nightmare on Congress returns with live music, DJs, vendors, spooky specials, and costume contests. Hotel Congress describes it as one of its signature Halloweek events.


Manual Cinema: The 4th Witch

October 31 | Centennial Hall


Looking for a different way to spend Halloween night? Arizona Arts Live presents Manual Cinema: The 4th Witch at Centennial Hall on October 31.


Inspired by the world of Shakespeare's Macbeth, the show tells its story without dialogue using shadow puppetry, silhouetted actors, and live music.



What’s Happening at The Seasons Tucson This October


There’s plenty happening around Tucson this month, but The Seasons has a couple of October events of its own to add to your calendar.


Find The Seasons at the U of A Housing Fair

Friday, October 2 | 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
U of A Mall


Heading to the U of A Mall? Stop by and say hi to The Seasons Tucson team.


We’ll have snacks, water, and a limited number of Arizona airbrushed shirts available. Want to grab one? Fill out a guest card, take your shot at our basketball game, and make three baskets to score a shirt while supplies last.


It’s an easy chance to meet the team, learn more about The Seasons, and grab a few goodies while you’re on campus.

Spooky BINGO Open House

Thursday, October 29 | 3–6 p.m.
The Seasons Tucson Clubhouse


Halloween weekend is almost here, and we’re kicking things off with Spooky BINGO at The Seasons.


Stop by the Clubhouse for an afternoon of BINGO, food from the Eegee’s truck, and a candy topping bar.


Come dressed in costume and you’ll receive a FREE space on your BINGO card!


Whether you’re already part of The Seasons community or want to come check us out, grab some friends and join us for a little Halloween fun before the month wraps up.



Bring the Fall Fun Home


In between October events around Tucson, there are plenty of easy ways to make the season feel a little more festive at The Seasons.


  • Plan a Halloween movie night in the movie theatre.
  • Carve pumpkins with your roommates.
  • Decorate your apartment for Halloween.
  • Bake pumpkin bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, or another fall favorite.
  • Have a costume contest before heading out for Halloween weekend.
  • Host a fall game night in the Clubhouse.
  • Put together an October bucket list with your roommates and see how many Tucson events you can cross off.
  • Grab your favorite fall drink and switch up your usual study spot when you need a break from your apartment.


And don’t forget to join us for Spooky BINGO on October 29 to close out the month with the community.
